London Protein Reference Unit, St George’s Hospital

The Protein Reference Unit & Immunology Laboratory is based at St George’s Hospital, Tooting, London, and is part of South West London Pathology. The London Protein Reference Unit has a major interest in protein electrophoresis, including gel electrophoresis, capillary zone electrophoresis and isoelectric focusing, as well as cryoglobulins.

The Protein Reference Unit was originally established at the Westminster Hospital under Professor J.R.Hobbs, then move to the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, and the Royal Surrey County Hospital at Guildford before relocating to its current location.
